Argentina Day 10

Today we had quite an adventure! We decided to go on a boat cruise to Los Arrayanes, a forrest that Walt Disney supposedly used as inspiration for the Bambi movie. We had to bundle up today because it was FREEZING! And being out on the water, it was really windy. The lake is absolutely gorgeous! It is a sparkling lake surrounded by mountains on every side. I'd argue that this is one of the most beautiful places on earth.

We arrived at the Arrayanes and begun our stroll around the peninsula. The trees were an orange hue and it was a really pretty walk. We also saw the cabin that Disney supposedly used as inspiration. Just take a look at these pictures:

(Be sure to check out our sweet lookin boat!)

Part two of the cruise was the Victoria Island. This is a big island in the middle of the lake. Apparently, now that natives dont really live there, they have imported trees from all around the world. Pine trees are not native to South America, but they brought and planted a TON of them on this island. They are kind of taking over the island, so they have been cutting them down. Take a look at the size of that one!

After our boat cruise, we went to visit one of my converts, Lys. It was good to see her and her family, and to encourage her to come back to church. Luckily, she has several good friends in her neighborhood who are members, so I think she'll go back. On the way in to her house, her dog bit me. Hayley wasn't too happy about that and spent one night worried that I'd die of rabies over night. I wanted to wake up barking like a dog one morning, but forgot.

Lys recommended a pizza place called Don Corleon (you can see the name in the background). I dont know who he was, but his pizza is delicious. This is a place that I actually walked by hundreds of times as a missionary, but never went to. The pizza was delicious. My onion-loving wife got the onion pizza, but it proved to be even a bit too much for her! All in all, a solid day in the Patagonia.
