Today I woke up not feeling too well, so we took an easy morning and left around noon. Our first stop was to Rosa and Luiciana's. I had found them while I was an AP on divisions in this area, then baptized them when I was transferred to the area to finish my mission. They had a lot of struggles and difficulties in their lives as we taught them, and really needed the gospel in their lives. As we visited them this time, they seemed completely different. They were happy, excited, and enthusiastic about things in their lives. While not 100% active (they go a time or two per month), they know that the gospel has brought a big change to their lives. It is very rewarding to be able to see people years later and know that the gospel has impacted their lives.
Rosa, the Mom, works at the Boliche de Alberto. I had heard good things about this place and decided Hayley and I needed to try it. We got to centro plenty early and roamed around in the rain until the restaurant opened at 8. We ordered some Chorizo and their steak. It was an ENORMOUS portion! We ended up splitting the steak between the two of us. We also ordered the french fries-- thats what Rosa cooks-- and she gave us a mountain of them!
Chorizo
This is Hayley's HALF of the steak! Its HUGE! I love these three pictures-- picture 1: Hayley is unsure of this meat she is about to eat. Picture 2: She accepts that she is going to eat it and forces a smile. Picture 3: She poses for the picture with a "I cant believe I'm about to eat this whole thing" face!
